Weekend Wake-Up 2007- '08 School Year Partnership Opportunity

The Weekend Wake-Up invites all community organizations, after / during school programs, non-profit agencies, and progressive individuals to participate in, and take ownership of, these community events. We are open to all levels of collaboration and community building and no one should be excluded from participating.

This year, to further solidify our foundation within the youth arts community, we have formed a coalition of non-profit organizations, both youth and their adult allies, to direct these events. The core members of this coalition have committed resources and programming to making these events possible. These partners have committed the following:

• Coordinating youth to participating in the Youth Planning Committee
• Hosting a Youth Planning Committee meeting / facilties visit at their org. headquarters
• Promoting the events through their channels
• Organizing performances by youth in their programs
• Significant funds ($2,000) or resources of the equivalent value to cover the costs of
• Promotion
• Headline artists
• House band, One Struggle
• House DJ, SmokeStack
• Host
• Sound Equipment
• Venue costs (when necessary, most venues donate their space)
• Liability Coverage
• Documentation

Any organization working with youth is welcome to join our coalition as a Partner. Please CLICK HERE to contact us about Partnering with your organization.

Organizations that do not have the capacity to make such a commitment are still to welcome to participate as collaborators. Collaborators are invited to:

• Organize performances by youth in their programs and have them showcased
• Contribute artwork or participate in live art creation
• Set up a table and promote your organization’s work, pass out samples, or fundraise
• Organize field trips to bring large groups of youth to the events.
• Pass out flyers to your students
• Bring youth to collaborate at the Youth Planning Committee meetings for a specific event

Individuals are also welcome to participate and support the Weekend Wake-up. We thrive based on the tireless support of hard working people in the community. We appreciate anything that you can do to cut them some slack and take a little off their load. Here is a sample of some of the ways that individuals can participate:

• Spreading the word that the Weekend Wake-Up is a place where youth in the community can showcase their talent, meet established artists, and build community
• Connecting to conscious corporations in the community that want to sponsor these events.
• Bring a friend
• Bring your instruments
• Arrive early and help set-up
• Stay late and help clean-up
• Chaperone your children and their friends (adults)
• Carpool and organize rides home for youth
• Donate
